Cody Park Family Fun Night 2011

Cody Park Family Fun Night 2011

On Friday, August 12, 2011 from 5:00-9:00pm there will be free rides at Cody Park provided

by the Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council.  This is the Council’s second year of sponsoring free rides the Friday before school starts.  The Council invites families to come out and celebrate the end of summer.  The Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council wants to remind parents that kids love to laugh and have fun, and when parents join in the fun, it can bring families closer together.  Council members will have a table set up from 5:00-8:00pm with parenting information, local and national resources and abuse prevention information.  The mission of the Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council is to promote a healthy community dedicated to
breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect, and promoting the safety of all children.  To learn more visit the Council’s website at www.lincolncountychildren.com.  For more information contact Matt Fosket at matt@lincolncountychildren.com or 308-534-4064.

Families who made it out to Cody Park on Friday evening couldn't have asked for better weather.

The Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council sponsored Family Fun Night, where children enjoyed free rides.

Packets filled with valuable parenting information were also given to adults.

The event is all part of an effort to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect..while having a good time.

This is the second year for the event.

This year's theme is ”ReThink Your Reaction.”

“Parenting can be stressful and it is a difficult job for everybody,” said Matt Fosket, Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council. “ReThink Your Reaction is we want parents when they are getting into a stressful situation with their children is to stop and rethink what they are going to do before they do it and taking that time out as an adult before they take action they might regret.”
