Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council Distributes Parent & Student Resource Bags to North Platte Public Preschools and Head Start Programs
The Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council will be providing parent and student resource bags to students in the North Platte Public Schools Preschool and Head Start programs. The bags will contain some educational supplies for children to use at home or school, as well as parenting information and community resources for the parents. Approximately 210 bags will be distributed the week prior to school starting. This is the seventh year the Council has provided this service. These bags are being provided at no cost to the students thanks to the support of Walmart DC, Early Childhood Services, Great Plains Health, West Central District Health Department, Boys Town, North Platte Police Department, Women’s Resource Center, Department of Health and Human Services, Bridge of Hope Child Advocacy Center, WIC, Child & Family Therapy Institute of Nebraska, Nebraska Children's Home Society and the Lincoln County Child Abuse Prevention Council. For more information on the Council find us on Facebook. For information on contributing to the resource bags, call Melissa Foote at 308-696-3359 or email mfoote@nppsd.org.
The Council appreciate the support of our many sponsors and member agencies for their support of this project, as well as the assistance of the members of the Community Connections Mentoring Program for their assistance in stuffing the resource bags. |
